Victor Frankenstein was the character I liked the most from the novel. What I like about him is that since his childhood he had always enjoyed learning about new things, and getting to discover knowledge in all of its aspects. He had a great interest in natural philosophy and he started learning about the alchemists, particularly about the causes of death and the structure of human frame, what I liked was that he was very passionate when he was learning new things and he always wanted to know a little bit more. He once said, “The world was to me a secret which I desired to divine. Curiosity, earnest research to learn the hidden laws of nature, gladness akin to rapture, as they were unfolded to me, are among the earliest sensations I can remember,” (Shelley 39). Because of his desire to learn more he goes to the University of Ingolstadt to study natural philosophy. His desire to discover the cause of life led him to create a creature different from all human beings. After a long time working on his project he had created a monster, which after being rejected by his own creator and other people decided to kill Victor’s youngest brother. From that point all the desire to learn and discover new things, all the passion Victor had was gone. He became guilty for the deaths of two innocent people, and instead of admiring his creation hated it and wanted to destroy it. His life change forever and he no longer enjoy studying what he once loved, he now became afraid of what the monster will be capable of doing. After the monster killed Victor’s wife which also led to his father’s dead, Victor decided to dedicate his life in taking revenge, however he never does it because he ends up dying. My response to this character is that he never gives up in anything he do, for example, when creating the monster or when he decided his life in following the monster even though he new that the coldness was going to kill him, he kept on going. I really like that about him because that it a good virtue that people should have. Also Victor had inner strength and courage to keep living after his whole family was dead. Daniela Godoy

The character that i liked the most from the Frankenstein novel was Victor Frankenstein, not only because he was this man that found excitement and joy in the Why? of the things that happened around him. On how he describes that from such a young age he preferred to search explanations and reasons of unnatural things. As Victor goes on learning about new things and has new discoveries, he finds himself interested in the secrets of life. as he says, "It was the secrests of heaven and earth that i desired tolearn; and whether it was the substance of things, or the inner spirit of nature and the misterious soul of man that occupied me, still my enquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world." (Shelley 39). Victor wants to learn how a creature has life, how it can live and breath, his ambition was to bring life into the world by his hands and bring new discoveries to the world. Victor later on finds himself in the university on Ingolstadt were his decision is to start its creation of giving life to a lifeless and soul less body. Another quality i found amusing was how Victor starts his job of creating the monster with such a passion and desire from his heart and soul and he never looses this passion throughout his work and research.
Victor Frankenstein is a character that shows passion, strenght and acknowledgment of his mistakes and failures. Its a character that reaches his goals no matter the obstacles he finds in the way of acomplishing his dreams. this is why he is my favorite character. Aaron Salazar

The character I liked the most was the monster, this is because the book is not narrated from the big creature’s point of view. If you get to thinking, this monster was brought to a terrible life where everybody hated and disrespected ugly creatures. Since he was the only creature with those characteristics, he stayed alone the majority of his life with nothing to do. He sticks to a family, and the only person he could talk to was a blind man. Everywhere he went he received insults or bullets. He was not meant to be in this world, so he decides on trying to ruin his “creator’s” life for bringing him to this awful life. The monster exterminates more or less every relative Victor had. Afterwards the monster only asks his creator to make one female monster o that he can be alone and accompanied the rest of his life, doing no harm to others. Victor refuses, so in the end both of these individuals end up losing everything and living a miserable life, until they die. This monster is often viewed as the criminal and villain, but he is as if he would’ve been a native, trying to communicate and receiving disregards and violence. He was a new being brought to a world that does not make sense, so the real fault goes to the creator that did not know what he was doing and ended paying harsh consequences.

The monster was the character I liked the most. Eventhough he committed a lot of crimes like killing WIliam, Henry Clerval, Elizabeth and was the reason for others to be killed, he once had a good heart. He was created with a clean and pure heart but the society made him evil. All the rejection he received from the people he saw gave him motives to have vengeance towards Victor. The society discriminated the monster, nobody got to know him before they started to run terrified from him. As I said, he once was a good human being. He helped his protectors in the cottage with wood for their fire and all he wanted in exchange was a little of attention and interaction. But, as I said, the lonliness and lack of interaction caused him to be miserable and wanted his creator to share the same feeling as he did. Mauricio Cattani

The character i most liked was the little brother of Victor, William. Without him, there would have been no story besides the creation of the monster by Frankenstein. It was in part his arrogance, conviction and agresiveness which made this story possible. It was when he met the monster the day he was killed.
WHen he saw the moster he screamed and insulted this beast because of his physical appeareance. Although the monster tried to make him stop those mean acusiation, the kid said "My pap is a syndic, M. Frankenstein, he will punish you" he made the belkieve it was Victor Franbkensteins son (although it was his brother, and theres no big difference in it as the monster wanted to hurt Frankenstein in the end). Thats when he killed him and the true adventure and traggic sotry begins.
If this scene never happened I doubt that the monster would ahve killed any relative of Victor. He would have visit him for a partner to be created. In this case i think Victor would of agreed on making one because one of the reasons why Victor denied that action was because he saw how evil and what a murdered his creation was. That murder made Victor realize that the monster was capable of threatening the existance of the human race.

My Favorite character in the novel Frankenstein was Victory Frankenstein. Victor is the main character of the novel. He is a man that always tried to find a deeper reason for things that happened around him. His passion was the chemistry and physiology of nature which led him to try new things never tried before in some fields of science. When he was studying at home he wanted to expand his knowledge and open his frontiers by acquiring old books that taught him unbelievable points of what he enjoyed about science. Victor could be define in only one word, a self taught person. All that knowledge obtained throughout his life was only possible with his effort and compromise to reach higher and become a scientist. He tried as hard and went to the university to continue his studies even though his mother died the day before his departure. What changed his life was a failed experiment in which he created this creature he will always regret of. What I appreciate about this character is his curiosity and endless effort to succeed in what he wanted. Even thought all his studies ended in the creation of a monster, his effort was huge to reach a very important role in science and new discoveries. I feel identified by him because he tries as hard as he could to study, get into a university and put and end to his curiosity about death and life law in nature no matter what was he situation nor his surroundings. Victor is a great character that proved me that if something passions you, the road to achieve it can never end. Mateo Guerrero 11th Grade

The character I found most interesting in the novel is Victor Frankenstein. As he is the main character in the story and is the one that makes everything possible. All of his characteristics such as his incredible curiosity and need for new knowledge makes him take the decisions that are the ones who make the novel Frankenstein so amazing. Also its incredible how much he changes as the story goes by. First, he was a skilled scientist who always searched for new knowledge. This lead him to a discovery that made him devote on creating life. He gave life to the monster and changed his personality becoming ill when he realized what he had done when the monster killed his brother. Then he recovers from this and starts to study again, but the monster then kills his friend Henry and enters his state of illness once again. Finally, he marries but the monster kills his wife on the day of their wedding and his father dies when he found out the news. This made Victor change again, now turning into something he hated. He fas full of hatred and only wished on taking revenge and killing the monster. But finally, he dies in hands of Walton, after telling his amazing story. All those reasons and moments Victor had to go through are the ones that make me believe Victor is the character i liked the most in the novel and why he is the one that made everything possible

My favorite character was Victor. Victor Frankenstein is one of the main characters in the novel and is who narrates most of it. In large part of the novel he has no motivation to live and has a miserable life. At the beginning he demonstrate to be a perseverant person which tries his best to achieve his goals. He finds in nature his passion and tries to find explanation of unknown things. He finally creates a monster which later on will ruin his life. He feels guilty in the murder of his brother and tries to eliminate his creation. Victor is also a very considerate person who dedicates most of his miserable life to the welfare of his family. He confesses that his only reason of living was his family. I really like how he matures throughout the novel but always achieves he wants. AlvaroPerez

The character I liked the most was the monster. It's not that I like that he killed persons and he was a brutal character but it was the character I took most interest in. What I like the most of him was how he knew nothing, he was like a recently born baby, and little by little he started to learn all by himself how to talk and he started to have his own way of seeing life. So I think he was very intelligent because he learned how to talk by listening to other people and very curious of everything that was going around him. He started to become evil when all the people thought of him as a hideous monster so he had to get out of the society and live by his own in the mountains and that is when he started to feel vengeance and wanted to harm Victor. He was a good person with the cottagers, and you can see he was a polite person when he tried to convince Victor to make him a female monster. I think that if it wasn't because of how hideous he was or how he received a lot of rejection from others, he would've been a good person and he would not have killed anyone. So in a way it is Victor's fault because he rejected the monster and the monster reacted in an angry way. I liked him because he had so much going on in his life and he was very unpredictable too. My favorite character for this story is Victor Frankenstein he is a really interesting person. Through out the story he evolves in a way of his intelligence and wanting to learn more. He is constantly regretting on why he pushed by his obsession created the monster that killed many loved friends and family making his live miserable. Apart from all the intelligence and devote to everything he performs I fell connected to him because of all the love to nature he has. Victor feels happy with the beauties of nature and has an attraction to the sciences as well as I do. I can see how the characters is in constant physical and emotional decay at the story advances and it is all because he has this constant bitterness in his mind. Victor is extremely devoted to the works he does. He is always getting obsessed on his works as the creation of the monster or the elimination of it. His personality is of good men and not selfish that’s why he at the end refused to created the monster partner, thinking it may rebel and kill more people. Victor caused his own death. He is an example of why obsession leads to perdition and what’s more impressive to me from him is the way he is able to accept mistakes and wants to solve them. At the end when the monster suicides at the knowledge of his death I see how both need each other because they had nothing left. Seeing how he ended his own life with a remorse that killed him slowly I question myself how would this impressible intelligent people be if he hadn’t created the monster. I learned lots of this character and even do I don’t agree with all his actions I respect them. ALFREDO JOSE TERAN

My favorite character is the monster. I think he is the victim at the beggining of the book because he has good intentions but due to his looks he is rejected. Even though he killed many people i think its Victors fault because he didnt try to understand the monster. For Victor the monster was just a failed experiment so when the monster realizes that he seeks revenge. Thats why i like the monster because he was provoked he did not have bad intentions at first. The character I liked the least was Victor Frankenstein. Sure he is very smart and he loves his family and friends intensely, but he is weak and very sentimental. When he realizes what he has done, he falls into a world of self pity instead of doing something about it. He doesn't own up to what he has done and he rambles on incessantly about how bad he feels. He is also very indecisive. First, he doesn't agree to his creature´s request for a partner, then he does, then he realizes what that could do to human kind in the future, so he declines again. Basically, by hurting his creature again, he single handedly brings misery upon himself and then only complains about it.
