A story may be narrated in first-person or third-person.
First-person narrators actually appear in the story. They may be reliable (you believe them) or unreliable (you do not always trust their version of the story).
Third-person narratives may be limited (the story does not tell us what is happening inside characters' heads) or they may be omniscient (they know everything, including thoughts).
Which perspective is the work you read in, and how does this affect the work overall?

The narrative in Frankenstein is very interesting because even though its always in first person, the narrator changes. In the beginning en the end of the novel, the narrator is Robert Walton, during most of the novel it's Victor Frankenstein and during a small part of the novel its the monster. Because the novel is written in first person, one can see events though the character's eyes and can feel closer to the character and understand him more deeply. Since there were three narrators, I felt connected with the three of them and therefore enjoyed the narrative perspective in which the novel is written.

The narrative perspective of the novel is always in first person. However there is not only one character who tells the story. It begins with Robert Walton which is writing some letters to his sister about his journey. While he is writing his letters he quotes Frankenstein in first person during his entire tale. While Frankenstein is telling his story he also quotes the monster in first person, when he is telling Victor his tale. At the end the narrator returns to be Walton writing the letters to her sister. These narrations of different character but all in the same perspective makes the reader know a lot more about each narrator thoughts and personal life. This can help the reader connect with each of them and know everything that is happening throughout the novel. Since all the narrators are omniscient while they are in their narration it is easier to know what is happening with the character and with its environment. Daniela Godoy

Frankenstein is narrated in first person and gives many perspectives along the book. I think all the narrators are reliable and easy to believe. The way the author narrates the novel using letters from different characters in the novel makes the narration easy to believe. The letters also describe feelings and thoughts of the characters that would be unknown if the novel will the narrated only by 1 character. This affects the novel because it gives the reader many perspectives which later on make sense with one another and makes the novel understandable.

The narrative in the book Frankenstein was always written in first person. What I liked of this book is that there is more than just one narrator. The book started when Walton was writing letters to her sister, then Victor started to tell his story, then the monster also become the narrator. So by having different narrators, as a reader you receive different perspectives of what is going on during the story for example how Victor sees the monster and how the monster sees himself. By having different perspectives you can know more about the book. I also think all of the characters are reliable, because at the end, all of the three different stories (Walton's, Victor’s and the monster's) match together. Joaquin Arias

In Frankestein the story is always been narrated in first person, during the book it constantly changes of narrator because it starts the book with the letters that Robert Walton send to his sister, and later it changes to the story Victor is telling Robert. Later in the story the narrator changes again when the monster started telling his story, this show us other type of view different to the one Victor had. During the story there are also many letters send from one character to another, which is great because it shows differten points of view of the history from many different characters. The story told by the monster of Victor, is not as reliable as are of the others, I think this way because Victor in the end of the book, talks about how the monster is evil and that no man should trust him because he seem to be honest. The novel is writen in a limited way, because you don´t know everything that the characters think, you only know what the transmit to us in the letters. I think that the way the book is written is a great way that helps you understand better the rest of the characters of the story. What I thought was something great that the author, Mary Shelley did, was start the novel from the future and then Victor tell us what had happen in the past. This make the reader feel suspense because you don´t know what has happened and why is Victor in those conditions. I think this was a great book written in an amazing way. Aurelio Cordovez

The novel Frankenstein is narrated in first person but the narrator changes throughout the book. One narrator is Victor Frankenstein, the main character, that narrates almost all the book but a part is narrated by Robert Walton. Then a little part is narrated by the monster Frankenstein created. Because this novel is written in first person it is easier to understand the character that is narrating, what he thinks and how he is. I enjoyed reading the novel this way because I could understand better the three characters that narrated it.

Frankensteing was told in First- person during the whole story. In the letters the sailor was the one who narrated the story, until he finds Victor and takes him on his ship. Then he talks to him and gets him to tell the sailor the story of his life. Frankenstein then begins to tell how he grew up, became a young man and created the greates mistake of his life. For him to tell the story gives it more life since we feel what he was feeling at different parts of the novel. He describes each setting precisely as he remembers it and makes you feel like as if you were there living his emotions and feeling the breeze. We can trust what his saying since his telling the whole truth about how everything happened and very detailed. He also explains everything with a lot of feeling that fives more life to the story.

Frankenstein is told from a first person narrator perspective. It is unique since it doesn't have one narrator but two. The story is told from Victor's and the creature's point of view. This makes the story much more interesting since you read about Victor's ordeal and his creation of the creature. then you read about the creature's journey through the mountains and how being rejected by human beings triggers his hatred towards Victor. All this is confirmed when the two narrators meet and their stories seem to match in a way, as their feelings towards each other too.
