NARRATIVE PERSPECTIVE A story may be narrated in first-person or third-person.
First-person narrators actually appear in the story. They may be reliable (you believe them) or unreliable (you do not always trust their version of the story).
Third-person narratives may be limited (the story does not tell us what is happening inside characters' heads) or they may be omniscient (they know everything, including thoughts).
Which perspective is the work you read in, and how does this affect the work overall?

In my opinion, I think this novel is written in the third person point of view. I think this novel is omniscient because we knew a lot of information including Bernard´s thoughts. The narrator wasn’t any of the characters from this book so we could know many things about the characters such as their thoughts. I think that the narrative perspective affects the work overall because the story can change if it´s written in first person or third. For example if its written in first person the narrator must be one of the characters and he or she would explain just his/her thoughts. The story would be told in his point of view of how he/she thinks things are. Pieces of work that are in first person are different than those in third person because in one the narrator is involved and participates during the story but in the other one the narrator tells the story as he/she sees it and is not involved with the story. This affects the novel because I think that the whole story would be different if it would be written in first person because the narrator would be one of the characters and could grow or change during the story while the point of view would also change.

To me, this novel is narrated on the third person omniscient perspective. Thoughts and ideas from all characters are told to the readers. Clearly, the narrator is not part of the story but is still reliable since it has shown us that it is omniscient. The narrator cannot change throughout the novel since it is not part of it. It only tells the plot. It does not affect the novel at all. Instead, it is better because since the narrator is omniscient, it gives us all of the information we need and we get to know every character very well. If the narrator would be part of the plot, everything would change since very likely, its knowledge would be limited and we wouldn’t be able to know so much about everyone as we do with this type of perspective. I'd rather have a narrator who is not part of the story because its range of knowledge is larger.

The narrative perspective is in the third person. The narrator doesn't form part of the plot, nor has influence in it. Throughout the novel the author shows it is omniscient, since it describes the thoughts and inner-mind situations of all of the important characters at some point. It lets us know about the perspective all of them have towards the external conflict they all share, and the inner conflicts each one of them has. In my opinion a third person omniscient narrator doesn't affect the story at least in a bad way, but improves it giving the reader better understanding of the protagonist, antagonist, the conflicts and their surroundings.

The narrative perspective is third person and the narrator is omniscient. The narrator isn't a character or part of the story, but it knows everything about the characters and all the situations and problems that they have. This does affects the story because if the narrator would be first person then everything would be different, and the story wouldn't be told in the same way. I think the way it's written and how the narrator explains everything with such detail and knowledge makes the story very interesting and appealing. Camila Cruz

The narrative perspective in this story is written in third person cause the narrator is not inside the story and he is not involved on the conflict, this affected the story becuase if the narrator would be first person them he story would have been told in a different way and with only one point of view, so being narrated in third person help us to identify all the conflicts and all the points of view of the other characters. The type of narrator is omnicient cause he knows all about the story, the conflicts, themes, etc...

The narrative mode of the book Brave New World is third person omniscient because the author and the reader are able to detect the situation though senses and ideas of many characters in the book. This means that the narrator is able to tell the reader things the characters in the book might not know. The narrator is not including to being part of the story but know everything that is happening on it.
